The water treatment plant is used to treat surface water or groundwater, the raw composition of which is unsuitable for drinking.
 
surface water treatment- removal of colloid dispersions and macromolecular organic substances
groundwater treatment– removal of carbon dioxide, iron, manganese, radioactive radon etc.
Technological processes of raw water treatment:

  • Removal of iron and manganese
  • Chemical treatment  (coagulation and flocculation)
  • Water disinfection

Sanitary treatment of water is performed using physical-chemical and chemical methods.

  • Physical-chemical: heat, UV radiation, oligodynamic action of heavy metals ions  
  • Chemical: chlorine and its compounds, ozone, other oxidising agents
